Singapore – 25 April, 2025: Following a critically acclaimed opening day where capacity crowds examined Asia’s tech revolution and innovation leadership, GITEX ASIA x Ai Everything Singapore again showcased the region’s digital transformation trajectory on an action-packed event programme where AI dominated the in-depth discussions.
Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and KAOUN International in affiliation with GITEX GLOBAL, the Asian inaugural edition of the world’s largest show is running at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore from April 23-25.
Under the theme ‘Advancing Bold Partnerships in Asia’, the region’s largest inaugural tech, startup, and digital investments event welcomes 700+ enterprises and award-winning startups from 20+ industry sectors and 70+ countries alongside 400+ global expert speakers and 250+ leading investors.
With PwC projecting AI could potentially contribute as much as US$15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030 and IDC anticipating the technology will yield an Asia-Pacific (APAC) economic impact exceeding US$1.6 trillion by 2028, the day two proceedings thrust the region’s AI revolution into the spotlight. Across a series of high-profile panels and debates, various industry-specific conversations enforced the view that AI is a launchpad for transformative, cross-sector AI-powered progress.
Revolutionising a US$107 Billion Regional Industry
Valued at US$107 billion by Inkwood Research, the APAC gaming sector today reigns supreme as the world’s largest and fastest-growing gaming market. Alongside digital penetration, a tech-savvy population, and the rise of esports, AI has emerged as a primary catalyst revolutionising the sector while cementing APACs status as a global innovation hub for AI-driven gaming advancements.
Michael Spanger, President of SONY AI in Japan, discussed how AI is propelling Sony’s mission to elevate and unleash human imagination and creativity. Addressing audiences, he revealed: “When it comes to AI in gaming, we want to support creators. Entertainment is ultimately about humans selling stories to other humans through technology – and the consumer-creator connection will always remain. AI is enhancing creativity, accelerating industry progression, and opening up new ways of thinking about what’s possible. We are recreating immersive, engaging, and extremely realistic gaming experiences – and we’re working with groundbreaking technology that empowers creators and is accessible globally.”
‘A Unique Opportunity to Redesign Financial Services’
Alongside gaming, another of Asia’s most prominent industries undergoing profound digital transformation is financial services as AI broadens horizons to enhanced efficiency, innovation, and customer-centric services. Boston Consulting Group recently revealed that APAC region’s financial wealth could rise by almost 30% by 2028 – with GenAI identified as a primary enabler for improved operational efficiencies and client experiences.
Discussing AI-related possibilities and potential in financial services, Shayan Hazir, Chief Digital Officer, Asia (xHK) & MENAT, HSBC Singapore, said: “Each revolution has added significantly to the global GDP and driven new business models. We must be open to what's coming because there’s a unique opportunity to redesign financial services. We’re a regulated industry, and we've built our protocols on the back of strong governance and perhaps a lack of creativity. If we start taking new technology and applying it to redesign, the human transformation – embracing change and how we work – is key. AI is a part of this dimensional shift alongside blockchain, digital assets, and quantum computing.”
GenAI: A US$110 Billion Game-changer
With International Data Corporation forecasting that APAC AI and Gen AI investments could reach US$110 billion by 2028 alone, world-renowned AI experts also converged to discuss the technology and its influence and impact across the business world in due course. Among the most pressing discussion topics was whether AI is an unavoidable transformation of business models.
Patrick Tammer, Senior Investment Director at SCALE AI, the Canadian Government’s AI investment fund overseeing a US$125 million-plus AI innovation projects portfolio, shared his opinions, revealing: “GenAI changed the landscape by making AI mainstream and unlocking the power of unstructured data for advanced analytics and prediction. Many business processes, especially in the service sector, rely heavily on unstructured data, making GenAI a game-changer. This trend will accelerate in the coming years. Virtually every industry will experience significant AI-driven disruption and transformation in the next decade with GenAI – and particularly AI agents – fundamentally reshaping service-based business models, such as consulting, marketing, and legal services.”
Charting a Course to a Smart & Sustainable Future
Elsewhere across GITEX ASIA x Ai Everything Singapore’s highly lauded second day programme, numerous discussions centred around sustainability and humanity’s path toward a greener future, including through smart city development and seamless emerging technologies integration.
Amongst the many high-profile visitors who shared fascinating insights, projections, and perspectives was Peter Kmec, Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic for EU Recovery Plan and Knowledge Economy.
During his address, Mr Kmec stressed the importance of maintaining human control over emerging technologies and ensuring no communities are left behind in the smart city era of tomorrow. He said: “When it comes to smart cities, those we see in 2035 will be entirely different to those we see today because technological development is so fast and smart city structures and sustainability models are evolving. While combining physical infrastructure with the new technologies we need, it’s most important to ensure that AI, IoT, and all other technologies are good servants – not good masters. It’s the role of governments to bring the necessary pieces together and build smart societies alongside smart cities so that we don’t create gaps between our urban and rural areas.”
Tony Verb, Founding Partner & CEO of Carbonless Asia – an investment, innovation and knowledge platform launched to support the decarbonisation of Asia – also joined the discussions, adding: “We remain behind from a Net Zero targets and achievements perspective. In this global economic and trade policy climate, we must unite to build on momentum and realise our intent to identify technology solutions that can deliver desired decarbonisation impact in a meaningful and commercially viable manner.”
GITEX ASIA x Ai Everything Singapore presents a thrilling journey into technology’s new frontiers through a world-class event and exhibition programme spanning 180+ hours of content and eight key themes, from AI, biotech, cloud, and cybersecurity to quantum, green tech, health tech, and smart cities.
While hosting powerful debates surrounding the most pressing topics in tech, it stands as a three-day celebration of technological innovation, visionary collaboration, and universal digital ambition – welcoming renowned tech leaders, founders, investors, national digital agency officials, and regulators to examine first-hand the latest tech solutions revolutionising societies and industries.

Hanoi, Vietnam – 24 April, 2025: Vietnam’s burgeoning tech ecosystem is poised to ignite a vibrant new era of cross-continental collaboration and innovation following the official announcement that GITEX, the world’s largest and best-rated tech show brand, is expanding into the Vietnamese market.
Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and KAOUN International in partnership with the Vietnam National Innovation Centre (NIC), the first-ever GITEX VIETNAM debuts in Hanoi from 1-2 October, 2026. Facilitated by the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI), the strategic partnership represents the next chapter in this global expansion, serving as an anchor event during Vietnam’s National Innovation Week whilst propelling a national ecosystem on course for a potential US$200 billion digital economy by 2030 .
GITEX continues to offer unparalleled access to new markets, capital, talents, relationships, and opportunities – possibilities that only the world’s largest brand can deliver. Throughout an illustrious 45-year history, international engagement and expansion have become synonymous with a brand which now stages shows in seven countries and four regions globally, including Germany, Morocco, Nigeria, Singapore, Thailand, UAE and Vietnam.
The announcement came on Thursday during the ongoing GITEX ASIA x Ai Everything Singapore at Marina Bay Sands. It follows the recently signed joint declaration of intent between Vietnam and the UAE to launch talks on establishing a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA) and elevate existing trade and economic ties to new heights.
GITEX Expansion ‘A Defining Moment’ For Southeast Asia
As GITEX’s global tech ecosystem converges to spark transformative collaborations, the inaugural Vietnamese edition aims to spotlight the nation’s vast potential to global audiences, facilitate digital investment opportunities, inspire new partnerships, and amplify new opportunities for Vietnam’s tech ecosystem to scale globally. Alongside global tech enterprises, thought leaders, policymakers, startups, and investors, the show will examine the pressing shifts driving the next-gen of tech innovation – from startup economics, semiconductors, industry 5.0 and advanced manufacturing to AI, IoT, DevOps, cybersecurity, and talent acceleration.
Celebrating the partnership, Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President of DWTC & CEO of KAOUN International, said: "The inaugural GITEX VIETNAM shall represent a watershed in the digital transition of Vietnam and the rising Southeast Asia emerging economies. GITEX shall spotlight and amplify the accomplishments, forward policies, talents, developing infrastructure, and growing aspirations of a steadfast and ambitious young economy to the rest of the world. This shall unleash a surge of new business collaborative opportunities between government and private sectors across the world. GITEX shall elevate the vibrant and highly motivated regional ecosystems, often understated and unfamiliar to global communities, onto the international tech universe. I think the tech world will be in for a pleasant surprise.”
Kim Ngoc Thanh Nga, Deputy Director, Vietnam National Innovation Center, added: “The announcement of GITEX coming to Vietnam marks a transformative milestone for our country’s technology, innovation, and digital investment ecosystems — and a defining moment for Southeast Asia. With its legacy of bridging digital divides and shaping global tech narratives, GITEX’s expansion into Vietnam will undoubtedly serve as a powerful catalyst for socio-economic advancement at local, regional, and international levels. We are embracing an extraordinary opportunity to build a future anchored in innovation, collaboration, and global connectivity.”
“The partnership between DWTC/ KAOUN International and NIC is pivotal in bridging the global innovation ecosystem with Vietnam through GITEX. TBI is proud to have facilitated this collaboration, highlighting our commitment to leverage technology for impactful results. This partnership is essential not only for emerging markets like Vietnam but also for enhancing bilateral relations between the UAE and Vietnam” remarked Jalil Rasheed, TBI Managing Director, Asia Pacific.
The Next Premier Tech, Startup & Investment Platform in a Vibrant & Emerging Market
Vietnam is becoming an increasingly pivotal catalyst in Southeast Asia’s tech emergence, consolidating its status as a vibrant regional tech hub and a global supply chain leader.
Currently ranked second and fifth globally in smartphone and computer exports, respectively, the Vietnamese semiconductor industry alone exceeded US$18 billion in 2024 (SEMI) , and its manufacturing and construction sector remains at the national economic development forefront, employing 17.4 million and accounting for 33.4% of total employment nationwide (GSO) .
Additionally, Vietnam’s future-focused National Strategy on Digital Economy and Digital Society Development aims to position the country as a prominent regional IT and network security hub by 2030, prioritising advancements in AI infrastructure, cybersecurity, high-speed internet, green data centres, specialised IT parks, and more.
Kim Ngoc Thanh Nga added: “Looking ahead, we are thrilled by the prospect of staging meaningful conversations, forging new partnerships, showcasing co-investment opportunities, and deepening the understanding of emerging technologies alongside our global partners and friends. GITEX VIETNAM will stand as a premier platform for the tech, startup, and investment communities to connect, exchange insights, and drive the future of the AI-powered economy.”

Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President of DWTC and CEO of KAOUN International, said: “We’re delighted to launch the region’s largest inaugural tech, startup, and digital investments here in Singapore, but this is not about the size. It’s about our commitment to bringing global ecosystems, countries, and cities together, powering human capital, benchmarking with the world, and forging new alliances, relationships, ideas, and opportunities whilst making the whole global universe of AI much bigger and more competitive. Whether from established markets or rising emerging economies, our responsibility is ensuring we connect and provide the chance to collaborate and compete. The Cybercrime Conundrum: Addressing A Looming US$23 Trillion Threat
Throughout its three-day duration, GITEX ASIA x Ai Everything Singapore hosts powerful debates surrounding the most pressing topics in tech – welcoming renowned tech leaders, founders, investors, national digital agency officials and regulators to discuss the fastest-changing competitive developments as formidable companies showcase the latest tech solutions revolutionising societies and industries.
Across 180+ hours of content and eight key themes, a thrilling journey into technology’s new frontiers awaits visitors through a world-class event and exhibition programme - one with cybersecurity at its core alongside AI, cloud, quantum, green tech, health tech & biotech, smart cities, startups and more.
Addressing audiences during the event inauguration, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity, UAE Government, stated: “Cybercrime does not distinguish between nations, businesses, startups, or people – and this is why we must be the first line of defence against malicious actors and build a security culture that transcends across the whole continent and beyond. This culture is a pillar of societal prosperity, security, and success. Being here in Singapore alongside so many great ecosystem partners, national security agencies, and cyber security companies amplifies our message that cyber security is paramount and integral to everything we do in a transforming digital world. We are gathered here to make this happen and forge a safe, secure, and resilient future through which digital ecosystems and economies thrive.”
For his part, Ahmed AlKetbi, Deputy Ambassador, Head of Economic, Trade and Investment, UAE Embassy in Singapore, elaborated on the robust ties between Singapore and the UAE, further enforcing H.E. Dr. Al Kuwaiti’s message that cooperation is a prerequisite to nations overcoming common obstacles and realising shared objectives.
During his inauguration address, AlKetbi added: “GITEX ASIA x Ai Everything Singapore represents an empowering platform for enhancing bilateral trade and relationships spanning government, business, people, and the private sector. Already, the UAE and Singapore enjoy a S$24 billion bilateral trade partnership, and the UAE is proud to be Singapore’s main partner in the MENA region. Furthermore, in 2019, the two governments signed the UAE-Singapore Comprehensive Partnership, a framework aimed at deepening existing areas of cooperation and exploring new areas of mutual benefit. We are open to expanding such relationships to any ambitious communities, countries, and continents – and we look forward to fruitful, comprehensive discussions throughout this week and beyond.”
With FBI and IMF projecting that average annual cybercrime costs could skyrocket from US$8.4 trillion in 2022 to over US$23 trillion by 2027, the cybercrime conundrum engulfing business communities worldwide headlined day one discussions during the GITEX Digital AI Economy Summit.
David Koh, Commissioner of Cybersecurity and Chief Executive, Cyber Security Agency of Singapore, revealed: “Singapore remains steadfast in our commitment to building a secure, open, resilient, and interoperable digital world. Even as we jostle with geopolitical tensions and transnational technological change unconstrained by geography, we should always remember that the future is in our hands. In the cyberspace, like-minded countries must work together to strengthen frameworks for responsible state behaviour, establish common security challenges solutions, develop common technical standards to safeguard digital devices, and invest in our people. Amidst uncertainties around us, there is no better place to come together to respond to, and seize, the opportunities ahead of us.”
Unlocking US$5 Trillion Value Potential: Asia’s Healthcare Revolution Assessed
Across the opening day programming, GITEX ASIA x Ai Everything Singapore presented invaluable opportunities to gain eye-opening market development forecasts and disruptive deep tech projections from leading visionaries in their respective fields.
Various feature events co-located across the show floor presented the most potent debates and thought-provoking perspectives surrounding the AI phenomenon transcending increasingly digitalisation industries, including healthcare through GITEX Digi Health & Biotech.
According to Boston Consulting Group, Asia’s healthcare market could reach a whopping US$5 trillion by 2030, illustrating technology’s vast potential to completely redefine industries and fuel economic growth.
With the rise of AI-driven diagnostics, Datuk Dr. Kuljit Singh, President of the Association of Private Hospitals, Malaysia, shared his perspective on how digital health companies should balance technological innovation with ethical considerations and patient safety. He said: “Digital health companies should prioritise transparency, ensuring AI-driven diagnostics are explainable and accountable. They must engage in robust testing to uphold patient safety while fostering collaboration with healthcare professionals. Ethical considerations, such as data privacy and equitable access, should guide innovation, aligning technological advancements with patient-centric care and societal well-being.”
GITEX ASIA x Ai Everything Singapore continues on Thursday. North Star Asia, the world’s largest startup, accelerator, and investor connector event, is set to star alongside Ai Everything, the region’s most groundbreaking AI showcase, and the GITEX Quantum Expo Asia, destined to set the scene for a new computing era regionally and beyond.

GITEX AFRICA Morocco will be a pivotal display of African innovation – boosting investor interest for the continent’s digital ecosystem
Rabat, Morocco – 9 April, 2025: Morocco will once again play a pivotal role in shaping Africa’s digital landscape. As the country continues to develop as a tech-driven hub, it has become a regional reference for the continent’s recognition as global force in technology – with innovation and AI at its core.
That was the message delivered by a panel of speakers during the GITEX AFRICA Morocco press conference in Rabat, ahead of the continent’s largest tech and startup event opening in Marrakech from 14-16 April 2025.
With a focus on powering Africa’s innovation-driven future, the event is held under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him, the authority of the Kingdom’s Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, in partnership with Digital Development Agency (ADD), and organised by KAOUN International – the overseas event agency of Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and organiser of GITEX events globally.

Trixie LohMirmand, Chief Executive Officer, KAOUN International, said: “This third edition of GITEX AFRICA Morocco shall usher the African economies into the epoch of Ai evolution.
